Welcome! Plus a fun flag banner template :)

Welcome to PrintCraft, the official crafty blog of AEC Printing!  We highlight fun, interesting, easy projects you can create with the help of an awesome local printshop...like us!  Our first craft feature is an adorable flag banner.  You can easily customize the color and content, and still have the whole project finished in under an hour!  When you're done, you'll have something like this:

We made ours for a wedding expo booth, but yours could decorate your home or office, or be used for a fun event!  You can easily add text or simply have a custom banner with your favorite colors.  These make adorable party decorations, and with the ability to choose custom colors, could be matched perfectly to your wedding decor as well!

Step by step:
1) Download our cute flag template here.  The file is pretty large, so it may take a while to download if you have a slow connection.  It includes blank flags, each letter of the alphabet, and punctuation marks!

2) Print as many copies of each page as needed for the size and content of banner you'd like. For a five foot long banner, you'll need approximately seven prints. We recommend a heavier card stock paper (80 or 100 pound stock should do the trick).  If your banner will hang where both sides will be visible, ask your printer to print the blank design template onto the back side of the paper.

3) Either ask the printshop to cut the flags out for you, or plan to do this at home.  At AEC, we charge around $1 per cut, so your cutting charge would be about $4...and would save a lot of time!

4) Using hot glue, attach each flag to a long piece of string, ribbon or twine.  We waited to cut the final length from our ball of string until we'd glued all the pieces, just to be sure it was long enough.  Be sure to leave several inches (at least 6) at each end to make it easier to hang!

Note: If your banner will be visible from both sides and you don't want the string to be seen, simply fold down about 1/4" at the top of each flag and glue the string under the fold.

8) Find a great spot to hang your banner and enjoy!
